Today I bought the wacom intuos 4 tablet and have been having fun all night admiring it's beauty and getting used to the features. Expect a lot of digital work over the summer, it may be hard to go back to anything traditional heh.
Most people don't like the music I listen to but it's my blog so sharing some bands who I like to listen to while drawing, riding the subway, whatever the occasion.
I posed for this piece because I needed good reference for the two light sources. The earlier Dune novels have mercenary fighters known as the Ginaz mercenaries who are fond of using pulse swords even though swords of any kind are considered archaic by most fighting forces in the DUNE universe as more advanced guns are readily available. The character Jool Noret is particularly skilled and find himself taking down swarms of combat robots on his own so I tried to depict that.
Everyone's favorite thing to do right? lol not really but this is definitely the best painting I've ever done of myself, not it's time to add color...yikes.
